Fantasy Playoffs

1. Snowballers 648 points: The highest scoring season in league history, headlined by 3 of the top 4 receivers: Cooper Kupp (134 points), Deebo Samuel (107 points) and Justin Jefferson (99 points). Those guys combined to earn 338 receiver points, also a league record. Hit on all of his first 5 draft picks and stole Deebo Samuel in the 12th round. Might have scored more if he'd started Joe Mixon (81 points) more than 10 times. Triple Crown winner. Great season!
   
   
2. Superbowl Bound 555 points: Rode the Chargers train to a pretty stellar season. Justin Herbert (126 points) was the #2 QB and Austin Ekeler (110 points) was the #2 RB. Made up for bust Calvin Ridley (15 points) with waiver pickup of James Conner (65 points) and a ridiculous season from Justin Tucker (64 points). Chris Godwin (67 points) was a solid 4th round pick and Trevon Diggs (15 points) was another great waiver addition.
   
   
3. Abusement Park 517 points: First two picks, Davante Adams (105 points) and Najee Harris (92 points), were home runs. A.J. Brown (45 points) in the 3rd round and Russell Wilson (64 points) in the 4th round failed to deliver. Struggled at QB all year and finished last at the position. 5th rounder D'Andre Swift (57 points) was solid until he got hurt and missed 4 games. A few waiver pickups, including Eli Mitchell (51 points), Nick Folk (57 points) and Jaylen Waddle (61 points) made up for poor draft picks and injuries. Dropping James Conner (65 points) instead of 6th round bust Mike Davis (21 points) early in the season was a mistake.
   
   
4. US Americans 512 points: Other than Tom Brady (133 points), who was awesome, his draft was solid but unspectacular. Nick Chubb (61 points) was fine but a little disappointing as a 1st rounder. Same with Antonio Gibson (60 points) in the 2nd round. Adam Thielen (52 points), Tyler Lockett (67 points) and Mark Andrews (77 points) were fine but not league winners. Got 28 points from Alexander Mattison (31 points) who he drafted in the 13th round. Solid season.
   
   
5. Stumps 489 points: First two draft picks, Kyler Murray (82 points) and Alvin Kamara (73 points) were good but slightly disappointing. Murray missed 3 games and wasn't as good when he returned. Kamara's numbers were just a little down compared to years past. Ja'Marr Chase (88 points) had an incredible season and was a steal in the 13th round. DJ Moore (63 points) had a good season despite playing on a terrible team. Third round pick Darren Waller (28 points) was a bust. Lost Chris Carson (14 points) after 4 weeks to injury and ended up starting both Bengals WRs, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins (60 points), for much of the year, which didn't work out too bad. Finished 2nd at kicker with a nice season from Daniel Carlson (64 points). Scored 50 points on defense playing Myles Garrett (21 points), Nick Bosa (16 points) and Aaron Donald (14 points). His team looked really strong early but faded a bit mid-season.
   
   
6. Brighton Bruisers 477 points: A fine season undone by a few flaws: Gambled and lost picking Saquon Barkley (35 points) in the 2nd round. Aaron Jones (64 points) was just a mediocre 1st round pick. Keenan Allen (75 points) and Diontae Johnson (75 points) were solid 3rd/4th round picks. Matthew Stafford (118 points) was an amazing pick in the 6th round. Trade for Christian McCaffrey (40 points) looked like it might work out until he got hurt again. Trading Darrell Henderson Jr. (42 points) for Terry McLaurin (50 points) wasn't a good trade and he finished 8th at RB. Struggled at kicker all year and finished last at the position. Didn't hit on any waiver picks to make up for his losses.
   
   
7. G Practice Unit 474 points: He was in 3rd place after week 7 and looking strong. Then Derrick Henry (66 points) got hurt and the wheels came off. First 4 draft picks were good: Derrick Henry, Travis Kelce (73 points), Aaron Rodgers (105 points) and Mike Evans (77 points). Other than Michael Pittman Jr. (58 points) in the 9th round, other middle round picks were duds. Miles Sanders (23 points) in the 5th round disappointed. 6th round pick Raheem Mostert (0 points) got hurt immediately and 7th rounder Chase Claypool (36 points) wasn't startable. Waiver picks couldn't make up for the losses.
   
   
8. Sactown Shrimpers 464 points: First two draft picks, Jonathan Taylor (125 points) and Josh Allen (121 points) were lights out. Clyde Edwards-Helaire (30 points) in the 3rd didn't work out and Robert Woods (34 points) got hurt. Tried to corner the Buffalo RBs but neither were startable until the end of the year when Devin Singletary (50 points) scored 32 points in the last 5 weeks (a run he missed out on). Brandon Aiyuk (42 points) failed to live up to expectations. Picked up Cordarrelle Patterson (57 points) in week 3 and got 29 points out of him, which helped him finish #2 at RB. Only scored 70 points at receiver which was the achillies heel of his team.
   
   
9. Whiskey Rebellion 436 points: Went with a zero RB strategy and drafted Tyreek Hill (89 points) and Stefon Diggs (71 points) with his first two picks. That might have worked our better if Diggs scored more than 71 points, but he still finished 2nd at WR thanks to waiver wire pickup Hunter Renfrow (67 points) who earned him 32 points. Lamar Jackson (68 points) in the 5th round was a great pick until he got hurt at the end the season. Cam Newton (19 points) and Tyler Huntley (12 points) were unsuitable replacements. James Robinson (51 points) looked good for a while but got hurt at the end of the year, and Kareem Hunt (31 points) also got hurt, so he ended up finishing last at RB. Defense was worst in the league with 16 points.
   
   
10. Human Centipede 419 points: First round pick Dalvin Cook (68 points) was solid but a little disappointing as the #3 pick. Joe Burrow (109 points) was a fantastic pick at the end of round 4, but he only started him 5 times because he tried to play the matchups between Burrow and Kirk Cousins (94 points), which didn't work out most of the time. Allen Robinson (11 points) was an absolute bust at the top of the 3rd round, and DK Metcalf (54 points) was a little disappointing as a 2nd rounder. Traded away Burrow, Metcalf and Darrel Williams (55 points) to Miller for Dak Prescott (103 points), Saquon Barkley (34 points) and Terry McLaurin (50 points). That trade worked out poorly and he lost about 20 points on the deal. Josh Jacobs (58 points) was a decent pick in round 5, and Brandin Cooks (64 points) was a nice pick in round 7, but he only got about half the points those guys scored. In short, he tried to play the matchups too much and hurt his chances. Efficiency was 70.3%, lowest in the league.
    
    
11. Glory Holes 417 points: New year, same story. First two draft pick were Cowboys: Ezekiel Elliott (64 points) and CeeDee Lamb (65 points). While those are solid totals they aren't league winners. Terry McLaurin (50 points) in the 3rd and and David Montgomery (58 points) in the 4th were also solid, although Montgomery missed 4 games. Thre real story was at QB, a position he waited on. He could have had his pick of Lamar Jackson or Matthew Stafford in the 5th but drafted Kyle Pitts (35 points) instead. He nabbed Jalen Hurts (72 points) in the 7th round but only started him 6 times, and then tried using a mix of Taysom Hill (24 points), Ryan Tannehill (71 points) and Matt Ryan (59 points) then rest of the time, but it didn't work out great as he was 11th in QB points.
    
    
12. Mangina 406 points: George had the draft picks we all covet with 3 picks in the first 27 players. Unfortunately, only one of them worked out: Dak Prescott (103 points) in the 2nd round. Christian McCaffrey (40 points) was awesome when he played, but that was only 7 games. Leonard Fournette (68 points) was a great pick in round 9 and also his best player (and he missed the last 3 games). The middle rounds were littered with busts, including DeAndre Hopkins (33 points) in round 3, Julio Jones (15 points) in round 4, Gus Edwards (0 points) in round 5 (lost to injury before the season started), and Myles Gaskin (38 points) in round 6. Missing a 15 point week from Joe Burrow (109 points) in week 16 was the nail in the coffin.
